Scenography

Augustė Marcinkutė

Augustė, young Lithuanian scenographer, debuting as a professional in “The Memory of Water”. Augustė is studying scenography in Vilnius Academy of Arts. She is reaching the Bachelor degree in Theater Scenography, in the future planning to get a Master degree and continue learning abroad with an Erasmus program to get a different perspective, experience and expand her knowledge about theater, scenography, directing and lights design.

I have a lot of dreams and aims I want to accomplish and I believe “The Memory of Water” is a perfect opportunity for me to make a huge step forward as a young scenographer.

Last year in 2019 Augustė had her first attempt as an independent scenographer with one of directors from O. Koršunovas students course. The team worked with A. Chekhov's play 'The Seagull' for 5 month and in the end they achieved great success with a minimal and interactive solution. After that, in 2019, she took theater makeup practice in Lithuanian National Drama Theater. In addition to that, Augustė had an opportunity to participate behind the scenes  in Robert Wilson’s opera 'Turandot' (Lithuanian National Opera & Ballet Theater).
